Required Documents: (1) Mission order from the Embassy or the Consulate, approved by local authorities (2) Diplomatic passport (3) Detailed inventory in French

Customs Regulations: Duty-free entry for foreign diplomats. Central African diplomats who return to CAR are considered as normal citizens.

Clearance: 2 to 3 days. Customer’s presence is not required for clearance.

Remarks: Customs authorities reserve the right to make a visitation of the goods before delivery.

Firearms and Weapons

 

Required Documents: (1) Certificate of registration (2) Valid passport (3) Proof of ownership (4) Certificate of temporary admission (F4 form) delivered by custom authorities upon arrival.

Customs Regulations: Duty free with the F4 form.

Clearance: 3-5 days. Guns have to be packed in accessible locations, as the custom authorities will make a survey of it.

Household Goods and Personal Effects

 

Required Documents: (1) Valid passport (2) Mission order of employer (3) Inventory in French (4) Declaration signed by customer that goods are for personal use.

Customs Regulations: Used HHG’s are duty-free if they have been in the owner’s possession and used for six months and are not for resale.

Clearance: 3-5 days. Customer’s presence is not required for clearance.

Remarks: Custom authorities reserve the right to make a visitation of the goods before delivery.

New Furniture

 

Required Documents: (1) Invoice with detailed price of each item.

Customs Regulations: Items purchased within 6 months are subject to custom duties and TCA (local VAT).

Clearance: 7-10 days. Customer’s presence is not required for clearance.

Pets and Animals

 

Required Documents: Health certificate and proof of anti-rabies inoculation.

Clearance: 2-3 days. Customer’s presence is not required for clearance.

Remarks: Parrots coming from Central and South American are not allowed.

Vehicles

 

Required Documents: (1) Car papers (2) Proof of ownership (3) Original purchase invoice (4) F4 form delivered by custom authorities upon arrival

Customs Regulations: 47.5 on CIF value for tourism vehicles. 77.5% on CIF value for high value vehicles. Duty free for temporary admission.

Clearance: 10 days.
