Moving to Dubai is a tremendous step, from finding a trusted international moving company, to lifestyle adjustments for those who have lived their whole lives guided by the Western practices. Dubai is located in United Arab of Emirates, and is one of the seven emirates or cities that make up the country. Besides Abu Dhabi, Dubai is now considered as an open city and has veto authorities over important national matters in the country.

Geographical Boundaries

Sandy deserts are common in Dubai. Its topography is different from the other emirates in United Arab of Emirates because the sand that makes up the city is clean, white, and fine. Dubai is near or lies directly within the Arabian Desert. The southern region of the city is composed of sandy deserts, while dunes and plains can be found in the east and north part of Dubai, respectively. The Hajar Mountains can be found in the west side of Dubai, it signifies the borderline of the city and Oman.

Although the climate in Dubai is mostly hot, there are natural parks and various species of plants that grow in the city such as wild grasses and date palms. There are some animals too that can be seen in the emirate which include caracal, desert fox, falcon, and Arabian oryx are some creatures commonly found in Dubai.

For those who are considering moving to Dubai, they will wander at the architectural structures and buildings that can be found all over the city. Majority of these structures are modern interpretations of the Islamic culture and are also inspired by the Islam religion, practices, and traditions. An example of how modern and tradition is mixed in architecture can be seen in the Burj Khalifa, currently the tallest building in the world. The patterned design of the building is a clear manifestation of Islamic architecture and customs.

Aside from the famous and skyscraper buildings, the tourist spots in this city usually attract a good number of guests. Dubai is known for having small parks and gardens, amusement parks, and even heritage villages. Some of the well-known parks that can be seen in Dubai include the following: Creekside Park in Bur Dhabi, Al Mumzar in Beach Park in Deira, Mushrif Park in Deira, Jumeirah Open Beach Park in Jumeirah Beach Road, Wild Wadi Water Park in Jumeirah Beach Road, Za’abeel Park in Sheikh Zayed Road, and Wonderland Amusement Park in Bur Dubai.

Traffic and traffic congestion used to be the greatest problem of the city, but with the construction of Dubai Metro, getting around the city is made easier. The train which costs $3.84 billion is semi-operational and serves around and about the heart of the city. The project is expected to be finished by 2014.
