Diplomatic Removals

Required Documents: Exemption Certificate issued by Bangladesh Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Remarks: For Exemption Certificate the Ministry needs: AWB/original OBL, valued inventory, number of cases, weight, CIF value, marks and numbers of packages, name of vessel with B/L number and date.

Firearms and Weapons

Customs Regulations: Hunting guns may be imported with prior and proper declaration.

Household Goods and Personal Effects

Required Documents: Form ‘A’; original OBL/AWB; valued inventory; passports of consignee and family members.

Experts/advisers of UN agencies and foreign aid projects must have a Customs Pass Book.

Returning residents and others must have a transfer of residence form and certificate from employer.

Customs Regulations: Shipments must be booked with 60 days of arrival of consignee in country. AWB/OBL must show owner’s name in consignee column.

Clearance: Customer presence required for clearance? Yes

Remarks: Form ‘A’ must be obtained from customs at airport at the time of shipper’s arrival. Must be duly signed and stamped by Customs before leaving Customs Hall.

Pets and Animals

Required Documents: Veterinary Certificate of Health; prior permission from the Director of Live Stock, Government of Bangladesh.

Vehicles

Required Documents: Similar documents as for personal effects but, in place of contents and invoice, previous registration form or ownership certificate is required.
